Dr David McKeag is an ophthalmologist with dedicated subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery. Oculoplastic surgery manages all conditions of the area surrounding the eye, including the eyelids, tear drainage system and behind the eye itself (the orbit).

Services

Hamilton Eye Surgery is a specialist eye care facility offering treatment for cataract, pterygium and oculoplastic conditions. Oculoplastic surgery is a broad area of expertise encompassing the management of eyelid problems, lacrimal (tearing) problems and orbital problems (anything surrounding or behind the eye itself). Dr McKeag accepts referrals for both adults and children.

The modern equipment allows for thorough medical assessment and imaging of the eye.

Patients not in a private health fund may have the option of using the dedicated operating room at the surgery. This offers substantial cost savings over private hospital treatment. Dr McKeag also has appointments at both Lingard Private and Hunter Valley Private hospitals for operations requiring sedation, general anaesthetic or an overnight stay.

The building is an extensively renovated California Bungalow, once owned by legendary Hunter region footballer Reg Date. It is now a purpose built and dedicated medical practice, with a fully restored heritage building and modern extension. It offers a peaceful and comfortable environment, in garden surrounds.

The practice is conveniently located next to Marketown shops, with disabled access and parking available on site.
